Founded by husband and wife, Muhd Alif Awan and Zira Choo, Studio People began from a simple interest in people, places, culture, and everyday life.
What started as a passion for observing and documenting real moments gradually grew into a creative practice centred around storytelling. From conversations with strangers and local communities to stories found within businesses, traditions, and everyday experiences, Studio People was built on the belief that meaningful stories already exist around us.
Documentary storytelling remains at the heart of what we do.
We are drawn to stories that feel human, honest, and emotionally genuine. Stories that reveal character, preserve memories, celebrate culture, and create a deeper understanding of the people and places around us.
While our foundation is rooted in documentaries, the same storytelling approach extends into brand films, corporate videos, commercial productions, campaign visuals, and other forms of visual communication. Regardless of the format, our focus remains the same: finding the human story behind every project.
